After discussions at the Asian Cricket Council, India and Pakistan have been pitted against each other in Group A at the 2025 Men's Asia Cup, set to be held in the UAE from September 9 to September 28.
Their group-stage meeting will be on September 14, with two more potential games between them should both reach the final.
Keeping in mind the T20 World Cup, the tournament will be played in the T20I format and, for the very first time, will feature eight teams, a bump of two from the previous edition.
Apart from India and Pakistan, Group A includes Oman and hosts UAE. Group B has Bangladesh and Hong Kong, who kickstart the tournament on September 9, alongside Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
